The EHEIM SUBSTRATpro+O₂xygen is a filter medium that revolutionises biological water treatment. This latest development, based on the tried and tested SUBSTRATpro, combines first-class materials with state of-the-art technology.

The secret behind the extraordinary effect of EHEIM SUBSTRATpro+O2xygen lies in the gemstone mineral tourmaline it contains. Thanks to its unique pyroelectric properties, it generates electron-activated oxygen (super oxygen O2-) on contact with water, which optimises the oxygen supply in the filter substrate and creates ideal conditions for filter bacteria. This stimulates the metabolic processes in the aquarium and activates the vitality of fish, plants and the entire aquatic ecosystem.

Efficient removal of pollutants - the spherical structure enables a high bulk density and makes optimum use of the available filter space. With a porosity of 45 %, the ceramic material provides a huge surface area for beneficial microorganisms. The combination of a large colonisation surface and activated oxygen breaks down pollutants faster and more efficiently - for crystal-clear water and a healthy ecosystem.

Durable & sustainable - the filter material is specially heat treated at over 1,000 °C, which makes it particularly stable and durable and guarantees outstanding resistance. It is pH neutral, reusable and suitable for fresh and salt water.
