With the utilisation of three Low Dispersion elements Tamron have managed to produce a lens that does not succumb to the common issues of aberrations and colour fringing, and is detailed and sharp throughout its focal range. Tamron's eBand coating has been applied to the 100-400mm VC lens, resulting in excellent levels of contrast and colour, as well as suppressed flare and ghosting. Fluorine coating has been applied to the lens' front element, rendering it water and oil-repellent, while the lens barrel itself is dust and moisture-resistant, to allow confident shooting in outdoor conditions.
