Its ultra-large F1.2 maximum aperture enables beautiful, creamy bokeh and excellent subject separation, while the sophisticated optical formula of 15 elements in 11 groups — including 2 ED elements, 5 high-refractive-index lenses, and 1 aspherical element — ensures edge-to-edge sharpness, minimal chromatic aberration, and accurate colour reproduction. Powered by a responsive STM stepping motor, the lens delivers fast, quiet, and precise autofocus, with support for eye, face, and animal detection AF modes for effortless subject tracking in both photo and video. The all-metal body features a weather-resistant construction for reliability in challenging conditions, while practical controls including an AF/MF switch, a customisable focus hold button, a clickable aperture ring (with de-click option), and a USB-C firmware update port give photographers and videographers fine-grained creative control.
