Coopers Original Pale Ale is South Australia's most recognisable craft beer, brewed by the family-owned Coopers Brewery in Regency Park, Adelaide since 1862. The signature Big Green can houses a naturally conditioned ale, fermented and conditioned in the can itself, which gives the beer its trademark cloudy appearance and lively, living character. Pours a deep golden colour with a generous fluffy head and a fine, persistent sediment. The aroma is fruity and floral with the unmistakable spicy lift of Pride of Ringwood hops, leading into a palate of balanced malt sweetness and a refreshing, crisp bitterness on the finish. There are no additives or preservatives, just Coopers pale malt, Pride of Ringwood hops, yeast and water. Gently roll the can before opening to mix the yeast through and unlock the full flavour. Best served cold but not freezing, in a tulip or pint glass with a wedge of cheddar or a plate of salt and pepper squid. The 440ml format gives just the right size pour for a proper, considered ale serve.
