The best laptops in Australia

Laptop deals cluster around refresh cycles, and the best time to buy is the week the next model lands. We track the MacBook Air line the same way we track everything else: our own price history for observed drops, clearly labelling markdowns where only the store's compare-at supports the saving. Reading AU laptop prices: under $1,000 buys a browsing-and-assignments machine, $1,000–$2,000 is the mainstream range MacBook Air competes in, and above $2,000 is dedicated creative or gaming hardware — RAM and screen size move the price more than the brand on the lid does, so check the spec before comparing two listings.
