Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is widely regarded as one of Australia's benchmark cabernets, made every year since 1954 from the finest fruit across the estate's terra rossa vineyards in Coonawarra. Crafted from only the top selection of each vintage's cabernet, it is the wine on which Wynns' reputation rests, and one of the country's great cellaring reds. Classically medium-bodied and elegant, it opens with dark cherries and ripe red apple lifted by delicate hints of lavender and violet. The palate is plush yet fine, with a core of red fruits and minty Coonawarra freshness carried by subtle oak and beautifully judged, fine-grained tannins to a persistent finish. A cellar staple that will reward years in the bottle, or enjoy now with roast lamb, beef Wellington or mature hard cheeses. Serve at cool room temperature, and decant when young. Vintages may vary.
