Olmeca Reposado Tequila 700ml

Olmeca is produced at Destilería Colonial de Jalisco in the highlands of Los Altos, the elevated country east of Guadalajara where the red volcanic soil gives blue agave a sweeter, fruitier character than the valley floor.

The reposado spends around five months resting in ex bourbon oak, long enough to soften the spirit and pick up colour without burying the agave. The nose is gentle, brazil nut and stewed apple with lilac florals and a touch of cardamom spice. The palate stays clean and light, agave sitting alongside subtle oak, bran and more apple.

It closes on white pepper and a final flick of agave. An easygoing tequila that suits a Paloma or a Margarita, and works just as well over ice with soda and lime.
