Kavalan Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt Taiwanese Whisky 700ml

Kavalan Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask is a peated single malt from Taiwan's pioneering Kavalan distillery, based in Yilan County. Bottled at cask strength from a single cask, it brings together two of the whisky world's most powerful influences, rich oloroso sherry maturation and a layer of earthy peat smoke.

Kavalan's subtropical climate drives an intense, accelerated maturation, allowing the spirit to draw deeply from the oloroso sherry wood in a fraction of the time seen in cooler regions. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration to preserve its full, viscous texture.

Smoky peat weaves through tropical fruit on the nose, with pineapple and mango meeting buttery toffee, ripe raisins and figs. The palate is rich and layered, offering dried mango, dark dates and citrus alongside well-integrated smoke, while the long finish turns to dark chocolate, roasted coffee and nuts with a gentle tannic grip.
