Taylors is a third-generation Clare Valley family winery, founded in 1969 and now one of Australia's most awarded producers. Their Taylor Made range is a quietly experimental side project that lets the next generation of the family explore newer Australian wine regions and modern techniques, with sourcing extending beyond Clare into the cooler vineyards of the Adelaide Hills. This Pinot Gris is partially barrel-fermented in fine-grained oak, which adds a creamy texture without burying the fruit. Expect lifted aromas of ripe pear, white nectarine and fresh apple with subtle floral notes and a touch of spice. The palate is generous and supple, with juicy pear and nectarine fruit, a satisfying creamy mid-palate and a crisp, dry, refreshing finish. A versatile aperitif white that pairs well with seared scallops, soft-rind cheeses, roast chicken, creamy pastas or Asian dishes with a touch of spice. Serve well-chilled.
