Wynns Coonawarra Estate has been shaping the character of Coonawarra since the 1950s, working the region's celebrated terra rossa, a band of red soil over limestone. Its Black Label wines are the estate's benchmark tier, and this Shiraz draws on some of Wynns' oldest vineyards, including rare parcels dating back to the 1890s and 1920s, for real depth and pedigree. This is a cool-climate Shiraz with a savoury heart. Dark berries and plum mingle with grilled, meaty notes, dried herbs, black olive and spice on the nose. The palate is full-bodied yet plush and rounded, carrying dark fruit and cocoa over the signature red-earth character of Coonawarra, with finely tuned tannins and bright acidity keeping it fresh and balanced.
